"Back in the 1890's Goldfield boasted 3 saloons, a boarding house, general store, blacksmith shop, brewery, meat market and a school house. Just when it looked like the town would outgrow Mesa, the vein faulted, the grade of ore dropped and the town died a slow painful death. After several unsuccessful attempts to reopen the mines, the town did come to life again from 1910 on and off until 1926.

After more than 115 years, travelers from all over the world still visit this gold mining town to enjoy the excitement and grandeur of Arizona's wild west!"

We will meet in the Parking lot at Goldfield at 11:30 AM, first gunfight is at High noon.

Goldfield offers many adventures, museums, mine tours and the only operating narrow guage railroad in Arizona.

To visit the Goldfield website, click Here

This site was a featured paranormal investigation site Halloween night on a local news station.  A friend group, I.C.P.I.R. led the local news team through a paranormal investigation that night.

Whether you enjoy the church, the ghosts, or the saloon - you're sure to find "spirits" at Goldfield!

This is not a ghost hunt - it is an opportunity to mix and mingle with SPI and others from the community with similar interests, and a good excuse to get out and enjoy Arizona with your family!

**All entrance and other fees are each individual's responsibility.  Bring your families, and enjoy a trip back in time to the 1890's.

Goldfield was rated, by the New Times, as "The Best place to take children"

I have never been to Goldfield!  Shockingly I have lived in the East Valley since 1985 (for the most part) and never made it out there!

I've been to Goldfield.  My kids really enjoyed it as did my mother who was visiting from out of town.  There is plenty to do to keep people busy.

The idea of Day Trips is to get folks out, doing things together.  To get SPI seen and engaged with the public.  There will be a lot of places we will go -and they will not appeal to all folks.

I will be there, as will David and some of my kids.  I hope to see as many people as want to be there, also join in.  Its all about the community....

I like the idea of going out as a group and getting out name out there more.  I mean its happened a few times where we've gone out somewhere in our SPIwear and we've been asked all sorts of questions and eventually they lead to "You know this place is apparently haunted"

I love the day trip thing. Heck, just wearing my SPI wear around town I get asked lots of questions. Last week, I got stopped in Trader Joe's by an employee who wanted to know all about real Ghost Hunters and stuff. Didn't generate site information, BUT by the time we'd stopped chatting a few people had stopped to "listen in" so now they know our name and what we do. Smiley

Besides, for me, being new to the state and area it's a fun way to see places with folks I enjoy hanging out with.

Keep an eye out Amie.  We'll keep doing these so maybe we'll catch one where you have the day off.

The more I look at the pictures of the place, the more I feel it should be a spot where paranormal groups resolve their differences...high noon with digital cameras, for example (first one to get the control shot wins).
