SPI Covers Arizona!

Sonoran Paranormal Investigations, Inc. provides investigative teams covering the entire state of Arizona with three cooperative teams located in Tucson, Phoenix, and the Verde Valley area. Members of SPI come from all areas of Arizona including but not limited to: Sierra Vista, Benson, Tucson, Casa Grande, Chandler, Phoenix, Flagstaff, Queen Creek, Show Low, Glendale, Camp Verde, Mesa, Globe, and Scottsdale.

Truly Scientific

Sonoran Paranormal Investigations, Inc. dedicates itself not only to individual investigations of claims of paranormal activity but is also among the handful of groups worldwide utilizing data obtained during investigations as part of long term studies. SPI believes that only through studying phenomena over long periods will it be possible to eventually craft legitimate theories of haunting phenomena. After each investigation all results from experiments and environmental readings are retained and analyzed whether regarded as "paranormal" or natural. Over time this data analysis will enable SPI to form sound theories and explanations for haunting phenomena as well as show trends influencing paranormal activity or perceptions of paranormal activity. Likewise, such in depth analysis will allow SPI to show existing ideas on paranormal activity, generally handed down as anecdotes, as either valid or invalid based upon true scientific inquiry and stringent analysis.

Unlike many groups in the field, SPI does not adhere to an "investigate and forget" mindset, but rather an investigate, correlate, analyze, and theorize mindset making SPI true members of the scientific community rather than hobbyists.

Charging for Investigations is Unethical!

SPI NEVER charges for a paranormal investigation! We at SPI use our own equipment, our own time, and make our own travel arrangements - this is all at our own expense. We do not accept outside donations. We do not perform cleansings or blessing but can direct clients to respectable spiritual or religious practitioners who may be able to assist them when necessary.

SPI - Arizona's Leading Paranormal Investigators!

Sonoran Paranormal Investigations (SPI) is a paranormal investigation group located in and serving the state of Arizona. We have members from Flagstaff to Tucson and we are able to meet the needs of families and businesses throughout the entire state.

In 2007, we were proud to become TAPS Family Members. You may be aware of TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society) and TAPS Family from the Sci-Fi channel series Ghost Hunters.

Becoming involved with the TAPS Family not only ensures that we are doing the right thing - but it keeps us doing the right thing. The TAPS Family affiliation provides SPI and our clientele with access to some of the best and brightest in the field and ensures that we have access to the latest information and knowledge of the latest technology available.

Our unique approach to professional investigation has set SPI apart among investigative groups. We have been called in by homeowners and business owners but also by government agencies including historic sites, local and state government (including police), and the United States Army.

This memorial day weekend, Sonoran Paranormal Investigations, Inc. will be attending a book signing by one of our previous team members, and be conducting a public Ghost Hunt at the Triangle T Ranch in Dragoon Arizona.  Reservations may need to be required for this event.  More information will be posted when we know more.

The book signing is for a new Paranormal Mystery novel entitled "The Ancient Ones" which will be available in April 2011.  Below is a brief synopsis of the book and the author.

The Ancient Ones

A Paranormal Mystery Novel by Lori Hines

The Ancient Ones

Lorelei Lanier is adjusting to the powerful connections she has to spirits. Unfortunately, her medium abilities are only the beginning. While working a dark arts case with the FBI and the Arizona-Irish Paranormal Research Society, she discovers she is the reincarnation of Annie O’Shea, the original owner of the Texas Canyon Ranch where the mystery unfolds.

Underground tunnels, Stonehenge-like monuments, petroglyphs of the solar system, an alternate dimension, Indian ruins, and a mystical tin box—clues culminating into a new reality for Lorelei. Will she be prepared for what the ancient ones have in store?

Available April 2011 from Aberdeen Bay

Ben Hansen from the SyFy Channel's Fact or Fake visits Arizona | Print |
Sunday, 14 November 2010 00:36

Ben Hansen from the SyFy Channel's TV series Fact or Fake: The Paranormal Files was in the Phoenix area on November 13th, 2010.  Ben was kind enough to send out a Tweet to everyone that follows him on Twitter inviting them to meet him at a local restaurant for a meet and greet.

Steve, Jen and Lloyd went out to meet Ben at the Souper Salad at 1649 S Stapley Rd in Mesa.  Ben arrived at 6:00 PM and met up with some people that he knows locally.   We went over and introduced ourselves to Ben and his friends and we were invited to sit and chat with them.  We were able to chat with Ben and everyone there for about 2 1/2 hours.  A few other people showed up and joined in with us in our conversations.  Ben graciously posed for photographs with us and the other people who showed up as well as with the entire staff of the Souper Salad.

We were able to ask questions about particular episodes and get a little more detail about events in episodes that were left on the cutting room floor due to the time constraints that are imposed upon the production of the program.  We also discussed a variety of topics from hauntings, creatures, and of course Ben's favorite topic, UFO's.  We weren't able to discuss details about upcoming episodes, but he says that there are some pretty cool things to look forward to.

If you have a Twitter account, I would recommend following Ben's tweets.  He is very open and loves to chat and meet people.

Photo Submissions

The members of Sonoran Paranormal Investigations is happy to review most photos submitted to us.  But, you must understand that any evaluation of your photos can only come from the viewpoint of a casual observer.  Since we were not present when the photo was taken, we cannot fully evaluate the situation and give you anything more than what we see in the photo.  We cannot verify the existence of anything paranormal in the photograph as we were not there.  We cannot verify the conditions that the photograph was taken under, or the entire circumstance of the phenomena.

Please understand as well that we are not trying to discredit your evidence.  If you submit a photograph for us, and we come up with an alternative explanation of what the photo may be, please do not be offended by our evaluation.  We are offering an honest opinion of a situation that we were not involved with.  We cannot verify the existence of any type of paranormal phenomena based solely upon the evidence presented photographically.

If you are unwilling to accept what findings we may have on your photo evaluation (you are 100% positive that the photograph shows paranormal activity and we say otherwise based upon our experiences and what is presented to us), please do not submit them to us.  We do not wish to offend you by saying otherwise.  We will not lie to you on our evaluations.

With this in mind, if you wish to submit photographs to us, we have two stipulations when it comes to photographic submissions:

1. Absolutely no photos taken with a cell phone
2. No "Orb" photos

Why do we have these stipulations?
